History of Photography: Lartigue and Renee Perle

While some of my classes are particularly boring, today's History of Photography lesson kept me interested. We discussed Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986), a French photographer who photographed the antics of his elite upper crust family and friends. He is considered the pioneer of "snapshot" photography (huh!? you mean it's not Mark Hunter or Terry Richardson?). Lartigue fell for a Romanian model named Renee Perle. I see why! She is incredibly fashionable (note the trademark nails and bangles), and I was super inspired by these images from class.

I'd really like to do a shoot inspired by her.
It's no wonder she was Mr. Galliano's muse for his Fall 2005 collection!
